Bonnie Turner, Editor

Thank you for visiting my page! I hope I can be of service to you. My expertise is proofreading and copy-editing. I will offer suggestions to improve the writing as needed. Turnaround is about 2 weeks, depending on the nature of the work and my schedule. My work is online only—no home visits or traveling to meet clients.

ABOUT MY BUSINESS

Im a published author with a great eye for detail. With more than forty years in the business, I can help you polish your manuscript before self-publishing or submitting to agents, editors, or business clients. Today, it is more important than ever to assure your work is as good as it can be. Let me know what you need and what you expect, and we can work together. Questions are always welcome.

UPDATE:

Having recently worked as an independent contractor for Elite Authors, I've decided it's time to retire as a full-time editor/proofreader and devote my time to writing and publishing my own books. However, as time permits, I may be able to take on a few editing/proofreading/beta-reading projects at a reasonable costs, depending on the length of the work, and after that work has been self-edited to the best of the author's ability. If interested, please email me your needs and I'll let you know how I can help.

REQUIREMENTS

SERIOUS WRITERS ONLYNO ROUGH DRAFTS. Authors are expected to self-edit to the best of their ability and should have some knowledge of the basics of grammar, punctuation, and sentence structure. Even so, mistakes happen. If something isn’t clear, I will question it. I will mark the errors I find, but the writer must make the corrections. (If you trust my work, you can save yourself some time and accept all my corrections.) My own books are the best examples of my work.

Prefer MS Word documents. Can do “Track Changes.”

Electronic files only. No handwritten documents or proofreading of hard copy.

* Prefer fiction, novels, novellas, short stories, children’s stories. (No nonfiction or memoirs.)

“I highly recommend Bonnie Turner as a copy-editor and proofreader. Bonnie has a keen eye for catching those pesky errors you thought you’d weeded out, and a wonderful “ear” for the written word. She found more than a few grammar and punctuation errors in the supposedly “clean” manuscript I’d sent her to edit. Also, she pinpointed many places where the writing could have been more fluent and succinctly worded. Bonnie’s editing provided the final polish my manuscript needed to make it ready for publication.”  I. Moore, Author of Dancing Lights (short story) and Racing On A Wire

“Bonnie Turner’s keen eye and practical knowledge of proper punctuation, grammar. and sentence structure are a valuable asset to any novel in its draft stages or the final phase prior to publication.
